Code No.C1470: Vehicle Discernment Error



caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Diagnose the CAN bus lines before the diagnosis codes (Refer to GROUP 54D, CAN bus-line diagnostic flow ).
  • Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS




PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the engine-A/T-ECU <6G7>
  • Malfunction of the engine-ECU <4M4>
  • Malfunction of the A/T-ECU <4M4>
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of the transfer-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics


Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54D, CAN bus line Diagnostic flow ).

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code


Reconfirm whether the diagnosis codes are set from transfer-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code No.C1470 set?

Go to Step 3.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis codes


Check whether the fuel system and A/T system diagnosis codes are set or not.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Diagnose the fuel system (Refer to GROUP 13D - Troubleshooting <6G7>, or GROUP 13B - Troubleshooting <4M4>), or A/T system (Refer to GROUP 23A - Troubleshooting ).
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code


Reconfirm whether the diagnosis codes are set from transfer-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code No.C1470 set?

YES : Replace the transfer-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
