1.Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position, and depress the brake pedal 40 times or more until the pedal force is felt heavy so that pressure in HBB power supply system can be released.

When removing the accumulator, use a rag to prevent the brake fluid from dripping on the pump motor.

| warning |
Do not turn the ignition switch to the ON position when the accumulator is removed. The brake fluid may gush from the pump motor and fire may occur.

Remove the accumulator with the special tool accumulator wrench (MB991926) as shown in the figure. 3.Remove the O-ring between the HBB and the accumulator. 4.Install the new O-ring to the accumulator to be replaced.

Before installing the accumulator, make sure that the spring has not fallen off. If the accumulator is installed without the spring, it may be damaged.

Using the special tool accumulator wrench (MB991926), install the accumulator. Tightening torque: 54 ± 5 N·m 6.Refill the brake fluid and bleed the HBB system (Refer to ). 7.Check the power supply system and its operation. 8.Erase the diagnosis code. 9.Discard the replaced accumulator (Refer to ).
