- When ASTC-ECU is replaced with new one, transfer switch initialisation must
be performed. Diagnosis codes No. 84 is set when the initialisation is not performed.
- When the ASTC-ECU detects the changes in all the switches that detect SS4 drive
mode, it judges that transfer switch check is completed. For vehicles with A/T, it
is provided that the drive mode requests the "N" range to switch the transfer switch. When the
drive mode detection switch or the signal line is defective and the changes of switch signal
cannot be detected, the check will not be completed.

The most likely causes for these diagnosis codes to set are:
|
|
|
- Damaged wiring harness or connector
- Transfer switch initialisation not performed
- Malfunction of the ASTC-ECU
|
|
|
(1)Connect M.U.T.-III to the 16-pin diagnosis connector.
|
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
|
|
|
(3)Diagnose the CAN bus line.
|
|
|
(4)Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
|
|
|

Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54D, CAN bus line Diagnostic flow ).
Then go to Step 2.
