Code No.11 Engine CAN Timeout


caution
  • If diagnosis code No.11 is set in the centre display unit, always diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • Whenever the centre display unit is replaced, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.
note When the diagnosis codes relating to the CAN communication error are set, make sure of the vehicle equipment. When the vehicle is not equipped with the system the centre display unit communicates to, the diagnosis code is always set. This is not abnormal.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT



PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of engine-ECU <3200> or engine-A/T-ECU <3000, 3800>
  • Malfunction of centre display unit

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

  • Code No.U1100: engine-ECU <3200> or engine-A/T-ECU <3000, 3800> time-out (related to Engine)

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?





STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.



(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.
(3)
caution It takes one minute until diagnosis code is detected.
On completion, check that the diagnosis code is not reset.

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.



(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Ignition: LOCK (OFF) position to ON
