caution Before replacing the hands free-ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • The multivision display may be defective.
  • The steering wheel audio remote control switch may be defective.
  • The steering wheel voice control switch may be defective.
  • The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the multivision display operation.
Check that the multivision display can be operated by the steering wheel audio remote control switch.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Perform Inspection Procedure 6: "DIAGNOSIS MODE cannot be made an entry. Mobile Phone item is not displayed on the INFOR screen of MMCS." of the troubleshooting (Refer to ).

STEP 2. Operation check of the steering wheel audio remote control switch
Check that the multivision display can be operated by the steering wheel audio remote control switch.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Troubleshoot the steering wheel audio remote control switch. (Refer to .)

STEP 3. Check the steering wheel voice control switch.
Check the continuity of the steering wheel voice control switch. (Refer to .)

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to step 4.
Replace the steering wheel voice control switch.

STEP 4. Check the steering wheel audio remote control switch.
Check the continuity of the steering wheel audio remote control switch. (Refer to steering wheel audio remote control switch inspection .)

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the steering wheel audio remote control switch.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between D-312 steering wheel audio remote control switch connector terminal 2 and D-313 steering wheel voice control switch connector terminal 4.

  • Check the communication lines for open circuit and short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 6.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Connector check: D-302 clock spring connector

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 7.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 7. Check the harness wire between D-302 clock spring connector terminal 4 and D-313 steering wheel voice control switch connector terminal 3.

  • Check the communication lines for open circuit and short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 8.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 8. Replace the steering wheel voice control switch temporarily, and check the trouble symptom.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Replace the steering wheel voice control switch.
Replace the multivision display.
