caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the dead lock relay
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the operation of the keyless entry system.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 2. Check the operation of the keyless operation system.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 3. Check the power supply circuit.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 4. Connector check: C-401 dead lock relay connector


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 5. Check the dead lock relay.



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 6. Voltage measurement at C-401 dead lock relay connector.


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the voltage between the C-401 dead lock relay connector terminal No.1 and body earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 7. Check the wiring harness between C-401 dead lock relay connector terminal No.1 and fusible link (42) <4N1> or fusible link (37) <4A9, 4B1>.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check ETACS-ECU connector C-408, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the power supply line for open or short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 8. Voltage measurement at C-401 dead lock relay connector.


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Check the voltage between the C-401 dead lock relay connector terminal No.3 and body earth.
OK: System voltage

STEP 9. Check the wiring harness between C-401 dead lock relay connector terminal No.3 and fusible link (42) <4N1> or fusible link (37) <4A9, 4B1>.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check ETACS-ECU connector C-408, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the power supply line for open or short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 10. Retest the system.
