  • Malfunction of speaker.
  • Malfunction of tweeter.
  • Damaged wiring harness or connector.
  • Malfunction of radio and CD player.
  • Malfunction of multi display station.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check to see which speaker the sound is not output from.


Use the speaker test to determine which speaker does not sound.

Q. Which speaker is not working?

Front door speaker (LH) <vehicles with multi display station> : Go to Step 2.
Front door speaker (LH) <vehicles without multi display station> : Go to Step 8.
Front door speaker (RH) : Go to Step 12.
Rear door speaker (LH) <Double cab> : Go to Step 15.
Rear door speaker (RH) <Double cab> : Go to Step 18.
Tweeter (LH) <vehicles with multi display station> : Go to Step 21.
Tweeter (LH) <vehicles without multi display station> : Go to Step 27.
Tweeter (RH) : Go to Step 31.

STEP 2. Check by the speaker check of audio.


Check the audio speaker and confirm that the sound from the front door speaker (LH) is sent. Refer to .

Q. Is the sound from the front door speaker (LH) sent?

Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 3. Connector check: Multi display station connector C-42 and radio and CD player connector C-125.





Q. Are harness connectors C-42 and C-125 in good condition?

Go to Step 4.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between multi display station connector C-42 (terminal 43 and 44) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminals 13 and 5).





Q. Is the wiring harness between multi display station connector C-42 (terminal 43 and 44) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminals 13 and 5) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 5. Check the front door speaker (LH).


(1)Remove the front door speaker (LH). Refer to .

(2)Check that the front door speaker (LH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the front door speaker (LH) terminal.

Q. Is the front door speaker (LH) generating noise?

Go to Step 6.

Replace the front door speaker (LH). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 6. Connector check: Front door speaker (LH) connector E-19 and multi dispaly station connector C-42.





Q. Are harness connectors E-19 and C-42 in good condition?

Go to Step 7.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 7. Check the wiring harness between front door speaker (LH) connector E-19 (terminal 1 and 2) and multi dispaly station connector C-42 (terminals 45 and 42).





note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-134 and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the wiring harness between front door speaker (LH) connector E-19 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 5 and 13) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 8. Check by the speaker check of audio.


Check the audio speaker and confirm that the sound from the front door speaker (LH) is sent. Refer to .

Q. Is the sound from the front door speaker (LH) sent?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The front door speaker (LH) should sound.
Go to Step 9.

STEP 9. Check the front door speaker (LH).


(1)Remove the front door speaker (LH). Refer to .

(2)Check that the front door speaker (LH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the front door speaker (LH) terminal.

Q. Is the front door speaker (LH) generating noise?

Go to Step 10.

Replace the front door speaker (LH). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 10. Connector check: Front door speaker (LH) connector E-19 and radio and CD player connector C-125.





Q. Are harness connectors E-19 and C-125 in good condition?

Go to Step 11.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 11. Check the wiring harness between front door speaker (LH) connector E-19 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminals 5 and 13).







note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-42 ,C-134 and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the wiring harness between front door speaker (LH) connector E-19 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 5 and 13) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The front door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 12. Check the front door speaker (RH).


(1)Remove the front door speaker (RH). Refer to .

(2)Check that the front door speaker (RH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the front door speaker (RH) terminal.

Q. Is the front door speaker (RH) generating noise?

Go to Step 13.

Replace the front door speaker (RH). The front door speaker (RH) should sound.

STEP 13. Connector check: Front door speaker (RH) connector E-11 and radio and CD player connector C-125.





Q. Are harness connectors E-11 and C-125 in good condition?

Go to Step 14.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The front door speaker (RH) should sound.

STEP 14. Check the wiring harness between front door speaker (RH) connector E-11 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 6 and 14).






note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-121, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the wiring harness between front door speaker (RH) connector E-11 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 6 and 14) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The front door speaker (RH) should sound.

Repair the wiring harness. The front door speaker (RH) should sound.

STEP 15. Check the rear door speaker (LH).


(1)Remove the rear door speaker (LH). Refer to .

(2)Check that the rear door speaker (LH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the rear door speaker (LH) terminal.

Q. Is the rear door speaker (LH) generating noise?

Go to Step 16.

Replace the rear door speaker (LH). The rear door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 16. Connector check: Rear door speaker (LH) connector E-22 and radio and CD player connector C-125.





Q. Are harness connectors E-22 and C-125 in good condition?

Go to Step 17.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The rear door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 17. Check the wiring harness between rear door speaker (LH) connector E-22 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 2 and 8).








note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connectors C-16 and D-14, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the wiring harness between rear door speaker (LH) connector E-22 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 2 and 8) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The rear door speaker (LH) should sound.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The rear door speaker (LH) should sound.

STEP 18. Check the rear door speaker (RH).


(1)Remove the rear door speaker (RH). Refer to .

(2)Check that the rear door speaker (RH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the rear door speaker (RH) terminal.

Q. Is the rear door speaker (RH) generating noise?

Go to Step 19.

Replace the rear door speaker (RH). The rear door speaker (RH) should sound.

STEP 19. Connector check: Rear door speaker (RH) connector E-09 and radio and CD player connector C-125.





Q. Are harness connectors E-09 and C-125 in good condition?

Go to Step 20.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The rear door speaker (RH) should sound.

STEP 20. Check the wiring harness between rear door speaker (RH) connector E-09 (terminals 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminals 1 and 7).







note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connectors C-16, D-24, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the wiring harness between rear door speaker (RH) connector E-09 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 1 and 7) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The rear door speaker (RH) should sound.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The rear door speaker (RH) should sound.

STEP 21. Check by the speaker check of audio.


Check the audio speaker and confirm that the sound from the tweeter (LH) is sent. Refer to .

Q. Is the sound from the tweeter (LH) sent?

Go to Step 22.
Go to Step 24.

STEP 22. Connector check: Multi display station connector C-42 and radio and CD player connector C-125.






Q. Are harness connectors C-42 and C-125 in good condition?

Go to Step 23.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The tweeter (LH) should sound.

STEP 23. Check the wiring harness between multi display station connector C-42 (terminal 43 and 44) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminals 13 and 5).





Q. Is the wiring harness between multi display station connector C-42 (terminal 43 and 44) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminals 13 and 5) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The tweeter (LH) should sound.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The tweeter (LH) should sound.

STEP 24. Check the tweeter (LH).


(1)Remove the tweeter (LH). Refer to .

(2)Check that the tweeter (LH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the tweeter (LH) terminal.

Q. Is the tweeter (LH) generating noise?

Go to Step 25.

Replace the tweeter (LH). The tweeter (LH) should sound.

STEP 25. Connector check: Tweeter (LH) connector E-24 and multi dispaly station connector C-42.





Q. Are harness connectors E-24 and C-42 in good condition?

Go to Step 26.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The tweeter (LH) should sound.

STEP 26. Check the wiring harness between tweeter (LH) connector E-24 (terminal 1 and 2) and multi dispaly station connector C-42 (terminals 45 and 42).





note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-134 and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the wiring harness between tweeter (LH) connector E-24 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-04 (terminal 45 and 42) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The tweeter (LH) should sound.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The tweeter (LH) should sound.

STEP 27. Check by the speaker check of audio.


Check the audio speaker and confirm that the sound from the tweeter (LH) is sent. Refer to .

Q. Is the sound from the tweeter (LH) sent?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The tweeter (LH) should sound.
Go to Step 28.

STEP 28. Check the tweeter (LH).


(1)Remove the tweeter (LH). Refer to .

(2)Check that the tweeter (LH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the tweeter (LH) terminal.

Q. Is the front door speaker (LH) generating noise?

Go to Step 29.

Replace the tweeter (LH). The tweeter (LH) should sound.

STEP 29. Connector check: Tweeter (LH) connector E-24 and radio and CD player connector C-125.





Q. Are harness connectors E-24 and C-125 in good condition?

Go to Step 30.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The tweeter (LH) should sound.

STEP 30. Check the wiring harness between tweeter (LH) connector E-24 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminals 5 and 13).







note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-04 ,C-134 and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the wiring harness between tweeter (LH) connector E-24 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 5 and 13) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The tweeter (LH) should sound.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The tweeter (LH) should sound.

STEP 31. Check by the speaker check of audio.


Check the audio speaker and confirm that the sound from the tweeter (RH) is sent. Refer to .

Q. Is the sound from the tweeter (RH) sent?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player. The tweeter (RH) should sound.
Go to Step 32.

STEP 32. Check the tweeter (RH).


(1)Remove the tweeter (RH). Refer to .

(2)Check that the tweeter (RH) generates noise when a five-volt voltage is applied on the tweeter (RH) terminal.

Q. Is the front door speaker (LH) generating noise?

Go to Step 33.

Replace the tweeter (RH). The tweeter (RH) should sound.

STEP 33. Connector check: Tweeter (RH) connector E-25 and radio and CD player connector C-125.





Q. Are harness connectors E-25 and C-125 in good condition?

Go to Step 34.

Repair or replace the damage component(s). The tweeter (RH) should sound.

STEP 34. Check the wiring harness between tweeter (RH) connector E-25 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminals 6 and 14).






note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector C-121 and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the wiring harness between tweeter (LH) connector E-25 (terminal 1 and 2) and radio and CD player connector C-125 (terminal 6 and 14) in good condition?
