  • When replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Keyless operation key ID registration failure
  • Malfunction of the keyless operation key
  • Malfunction of KOS-ECU
  • Malfunction of receiver antenna module
  • Malfunction of CAN bus line
  • Battery drain of keyless operation key

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics



Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 2. Replace the battery in the keyless operation key and recheck the diagnosis code.



(1)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(2)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?





STEP 3. Replace the keyless operation key and recheck the diagnosis code.



(1)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(2)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?





STEP 4. Check receiver antenna module connector C-07 and KOS-ECU connector C-23 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between the receiver antenna module connector C-07 (terminal Nos.1, 8, 12, 3, 5, 2, 4) and the KOS-ECU connector C-23 (terminal Nos.12, 32, 7, 9, 13, 11, 10).



  • Check the all harness lines for open circuit and short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?





STEP 6. Replace the receiver antenna module, and check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


(1)Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(2)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
