Code No.B2413 STL unit power voltage

caution
  • If the diagnosis code No. B2413 is set in the steering lock unit, diagnose the CAN bus lines. If there is any fault in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. In this case, the set diagnosis code is not highly reliable.
  • Whenever the steering lock unit (integrated in the key reminder switch) is replaced, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.

DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of the steering lock unit (integrated into the key reminder switch)
  • Malfunction of the KOS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. Connector check: C-213 key reminder switch connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Voltage measurement at the C-213 key reminder switch connector

Check the power supply line for open circuit and short circuit.
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the harness side.
(2)Turn the ignition push switch to the ON position.
(3)Measure the voltage between the key reminder switch connector terminal No. 9 and earth.
OK: 5 ± 0.5 V

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Check the C-23 KOS-ECU connector and the wiring harness between the C-23 KOS-ECU (terminal No. 5) and the C-213 key reminder switch connector (terminal No. 9), and repair them if necessary. If it is normal, replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).

STEP 4. Connector check: C-23 KOS-ECU connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between the C-23 KOS-ECU connector terminal No. 31 and the C-213 key reminder switch connector terminal No. 11.

Check the earth wires for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Replace the key reminder switch, and check whether the diagnosis code is reset.

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace KOS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
The diagnosis is complete.
