Inspection Procedure 4: When the "CANCEL" Switch is Set to ON, Cruise Control is not Cancelled.




COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM




PROBABLE CAUSE



  • Malfunction of the cruise control switch.
  • Malfunction of the engine-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the data list.


Using M.U.T.-III, check the data list.

  • Item No. 75: "CANCEL" switch
(Refer to data list reference table ) <4B1>.
(Refer to data list reference table ) <6B3>.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Refer to - Diagnosis Code Procedures, Code No. 15: Cruise control switch system. Then go to Step 3.

STEP 2. Retest the system.


Q. Does the "CANCEL" switch set to ON, cruise control system is cancelled?

It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the engine-ECU (Refer to GROUP 13D - Engine-ECU ) <4B1> or (Refer to GROUP 13C - Engine-ECU ) <6B3>. Then go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Retest the system.


Q. Does the "CANCEL" switch set to ON, cruise control system is cancelled?

The procedure is complete.
