Rear View Camera Image Is not Correctly Displayed.

































COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


When the screen of rear view camera is not shown even if the shift position is "R" (Reverse) position, the rear view camera, the wiring harness, connectors, back-up lamp switch or audio visual navigation unit may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
  • Malfunction of the back-up lamp switch
  • Malfunction of the inhibitor switch
  • Malfunction of the rear view camera
  • Malfunction of the audio visual navigation unit

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Confirmation in MMCS service mode


Perform "Network/Connect Line Check" in the MMCS service mode to check that the communication and wire connection with the rear view camera are OK (Refer to ).
note The rear view camera is shown as "rear camera" on the "Network/Connect Line Check" in the service mode of MMCS.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Connector check: F-25 rear view camera connector and C-06 audio visual navigation unit connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check the wiring harness between F-25 rear view camera connector (terminal No. 6, 3, 2, 5, 4) and C-06 audio visual navigation unit connector (terminal No. 83, 85, 81, 82, 86).


note Before the wiring harness inspection, inspect the intermediate connectors D-09, C-22 and C-21, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 4. Trouble symptom recheck


note Check that the display of rear view camera is shown normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Confirmation in MMCS service mode


Check the vehicle signal of MMCS service mode, and then confirm that the shift position R signal is normal. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.
Go to Step 6.

STEP 6. Back-up lamp switch <M/T> or inhibitor switch <A/T or CVT> inspection


Check the back-up lamp switch <M/T> or inhibitor switch <A/T or CVT>. (Refer to GROUP 22B - Trans mission <M/T> or GROUP 23A - Essential service <CVT>,or GROUP 23C - <A/T>.)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Replace the back-up lamp switch <M/T> or the inhibitor switch <A/T or CVT>.

STEP 7. Connector check: C-10 audio visual navigation unit connector and B-08 back-up lamp switch <M/T> or B-121 inhibitor switch connector <CVT or A/T>.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 8. Check the wiring harness between B-08 back-up lamp switch connector (terminal No. 1) <M/T> or B-121 inhibitor switch connector (terminal No. 9) <CVT or A/T> and C-10 audio visual navigation unit connector (terminal No. 24).


note Before the wiring harness inspection, inspect the intermediate connector, C-21, C-36, B-07 <diesel> or A-13 <gasoline> and ETACS-ECU connectors C-304, C-311, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 9. Trouble symptom recheck


Check that the display of rear view camera is shown normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the rear view camera temporarily and go to Step 10.

STEP 10. Trouble symptom recheck


Check that the display of rear view camera is shown normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the rear view camera.
Replace the audio visual navigation unit.
