Code No. P0833 Clutch Interlock Switch Circuit

OPERATION

  • The power voltage is supplied to the clutch interlock switch connector terminal from the ETACS-ECU connector terminal IG+.
  • The ON/OFF signal is inputted to the AS&G-ECU connector terminal CLTR from the clutch interlock switch connector terminal.

FUNCTION

  • The AS&G-ECU detects the state of the depressed clutch pedal by using the signal of the clutch interlock switch.
  • In response to the signal, the AS&G-ECU controls the AS&G system.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT

Check Condition
  • Ignition switch is "ON" position.
  • The diagnosis code U0100 is not detected.
Judgement Criterion
  • Although the driving is more than 30 km/h during the previous driving, the ON/OFF signal of the clutch interlock switch is not changed even once.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION

  • In the normal operation, the auto stop is prohibited.

PROBABLE CAUSES

  • Open/short circuit or harness damage in clutch interlock switch circuit or loose connector contact
  • Failed clutch interlock switch
  • Failed installation of clutch interlock switch
  • Failed clutch pedal
  • Failed AS&G-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list

  • Refer to Data List Reference Table .

  1. item 7: Clutch interlock switch (bottom)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the installation state of the clutch interlock switch and check the clutch pedal.

  • Check the installation state of the clutch interlock switch.
  • Check whether the installation portion of the clutch interlock switch of the clutch pedal is not damaged.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair or replace.

STEP 3. Check the clutch interlock switch itself.

  • Check the clutch interlock switch itself (Refer to GROUP 21A - Clutch Pedal and Master Cylinder - Inspection ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the clutch interlock switch.

STEP 4. Perform voltage measurement at C-151 clutch interlock switch connector.

  • Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
  • Voltage between terminal ETACS-ECU IG+ line and earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s), or check of short circuit to earth, and open circuit in IG+ line between ETACS-ECU connector and clutch interlock switch connector.

STEP 5. Check of harness damage IG+ line between ETACS-ECU connector and clutch interlock switch connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check short to earth, open circuit, and harness damage in CLTR line between clutch interlock switch connector and AS&G-ECU connector.

  • Check output line for open/short circuit and damage.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 7. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

  • Reconfirmation of the diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the AS&G-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
