Inspection Procedure 2: When the Clutch Pedal is Depressed, cruise Control is not Cancelled. <M/T>

OPERATION

  • Engine-ECU terminal No.112 monitors the clutch switch state.
  • The clutch switch turns ON/OFF when the clutch pedal is depressed/released, and the input signal to the engine-ECU changes. According to this change, the engine-ECU judges the clutch switch status.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

POSSIBLE CAUSES

  • Damaged harness or connector.
  • Malfunction of the clutch switch.
  • Malfunction of the engine-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS

STEP 1. Check the data list.

Using M.U.T.-III, check the data list (Refer to - data list reference table.)

  • Item 131: Clutch switch.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Go to Step 2 <L.H. drive vehicles>.
Go to Step 3 <R.H. drive vehicles>.

STEP 2. Connectors check: D-33 clutch switch connector, D-215 engine-ECU connector, D-231 and D-241 intermediate connectors <L H drive vehicles>.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair or replace the damaged connector. Then go to Step 8.

STEP 3. Connectors check: D-33 clutch switch connector, D-215 engine-ECU connector, and D-111 J/C (5) <R.H. drive vehicles>.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair or replace the damaged connector. Then go to Step 8.

STEP 4. Check the harness wire between engine-ECU connector D-215 terminal No.112 and clutch switch connector D-33 terminal No.1, and between clutch switch connector D-33 terminal No.2 and earth.

  • Check harness wire for open/short circuit and damage.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair or replace the damaged harness wire. Then go to Step 8.

Replace the clutch switch (Refer to GROUP 21A - Clutch Pedal .) Then go to Step 8.

STEP 6. Check the data list.

Using M.U.T.-III, check the data list (Refer to - data list reference table.)

  • Item 131: Clutch switch.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Replace the engine-ECU (Refer to GROUP 13B - Engine-ECU .) Then go to Step 8.

STEP 7. Check the symptom.

Q. When the clutch pedal is depressed, is the cruise control cancelled?

It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions .)
Replace the engine-ECU (Refer to GROUP 13B - Engine-ECU .) Then go to Step 8.

STEP 8. Check the symptom.
