REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION



caution The fastener marked with* should be temporarily tightened first and then fully tightened with the engine weight applied on the vehicle body.
Pre-removal and post-installation operation
  • Engine room under cover A, B removal and installation (Refer to GROUP 51, Under cover )
  • Transmission oil draining and refilling (Refer to .)
  • Transfer oil draining and refilling (Refer to .)
  • Heat protector removal and installation (Refer to GROUP 32, Crossmember .)
  • Propeller shaft removal and installation (Refer to GROUP 25, Propeller shaft .)
  • Centre member removal and installation (Refer to GROUP 32, engine roll stopper and centre member .)
  • Catalytic converter assembly removal and installation (Refer to GROUP 15, exhaust pipe, main muffler and catalytic converter .) <4HN>
  • Turbocharger removal and installation <4HN>
  • EGR cooler removal and installation <4HN>






Removal steps

Self-locking nut

Drive shaft <RH> and output shaft removal and installation (Refer to GROUP 26 .)

Transfer bracket <6M/T-BSY>

Remove the catalytic converter mounting bolts and move them to the position where they will not interfere with transfer removal (Refer to GROUP 15 ) <6M/T-BSY>.

<<A>> TRANSFER ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


Move the engine and transmission assembly toward the front of the vehicle to make a gap between the engine/transmission assembly and the crossmember. Pull out the transfer assembly through this gap.
